Description

This installation takes the form of a stage because an empty stage is the site of paused energy.  The play has finished or it will soon begin.  Everyone knows what to do, except you. When you walk in on a ready but empty scene, you know you are on the outside looking in.  The pennants wave to maintain a feeling of life in the room, even when it is uninhabited.  The theater lights lend the authority of spectacle and the repeating shapes strike a visual rhythm in the space.  The scale of the stage is reduced to alienate adults and to engage children.  Of course, since most adults have been children, they will recognize that the invitation is to their younger selves without having to ask.
